FEFAC, the European Compound Feed Manufacturers’ Federation, represents 21 national Associations in 21 EU Member States.
The EU27 compound feed industry employs over 100,000 persons on app. 3,200 production sites often in rural areas, which offer few employment opportunities (2022).
Farm animals in the EU27 consumed an estimated 644 million tonnes of feed in 2021/2022, of which about 23 % are produced by the compound feed manufacturers.
Turnover of the EU27 compound feed industry was estimated at €56 billion (2021).
