FEFAC, the European Manufacturers’ Federation, is pleased to announce that registrations for the FEFAC’s 70th Anniversary Public Annual Meeting are now open.
Taking place in Luxembourg on 27–28 April 2027, “back-to-back” with the AGRIFISH Council, the meeting will bring together policymakers, farm ministers, and industry leader representatives from across the agricultural, feed and wider agri-food sectors to discuss the priorities shaping the future of European livestock and feed production.

Under the theme “European Livestock Strategy and EU Protein Action Plan: From Vision to Implementation”, the event will address three interconnected challenges: delivering on the EU’s strategic “long-term” livestock resilience, maintaining resilient access to agricultural commodities in a changing global trading environment, and strengthening Europe’s supply of competitive protein sources.

The opening session will feature a keynote address by Christophe Hansen, European Commissioner for Agriculture and Food, sharing his views on the implementation roadmap for the livestock strategy and protein action plan.

A high-level roundtable with EU Farm Ministers will then examine the political priorities and practical conditions needed to accelerate the transition to more competitive, resilient, and sustainable livestock production systems.

A fireside chat with Lennart Nilsson, COGECA President, and leading MEPs will provide the perspective of the Agri Food value chain and discuss the necessary legislative and financial framework to encourage the modernisation of livestock and feed production systems. The discussion will address a central question for European agriculture: how can policy priorities be matched by an enabling environment for farmers, feed chain suppliers and the wider agri-food chain?

The 2nd session will then examine how changing trade relations and geopolitical developments are affecting European and global grain and feed supply chains, with a focus on Mercosur, Ukraine, and EU-US trade relations.

Arnaud Petit, Executive Director of the International Grains Council (IGC), and Roberto Betancourt, President of SINDIRAÇÕES, will set the scene to engage in discussion with trade and feed chain experts on the impact of recent EU FTAs like MERCOSUR and the Ukraine DCFTA on EU and global feed trade.

On 28 April, the 3rd and final panel will focus on specific key actions laid down in the EU Protein Action Plan linked to the 35% / 2035 benchmark for Hi Pro feed proteins from EU origin: Christophe Beaunoir, FEDIOL President, will highlight the role and outlook of rapeseed meal as the most important homegrown source for Hi-Pro meals to the feed sector. The first expert round will address the contribution of alternative protein sources and amino acids.  The second expert round will be opened by a contribution from Garlich von Essen, Euroseeds Secretary General, focusing on New Genomic Techniques (NGTs) and their potential to stimulate the production of oilseed and protein crops in Europe.

FEFAC President Nicolas Coudry-Mesny: “Our members are strongly committed to delivering the practical tools to modernise livestock farmers’ operations, which requires an enabling, coherent EU policy framework and close cooperation across the agri-food chain. I welcome all members, stakeholders, and value chain partners to attend our 70th FEFAC Public Annual Meeting in Luxembourg”
