FEFAC Recommendations to mitigate the EU dependency upon Third Countries for access to essential nutritional feed additives
On 31 March 2026, FEFAC released its Recommendations regarding measures and tools to mitigate the EU dependency upon Third Countries for access to essential nutritional feed additives ((26) MEMO 13). These recommendations, based on a survey of a panel of compound feed and premixtures manufacturers is the second step of the FEFAC action plan on Feed Additives Vulnerability, after the publication in September 2025 of an evaluation study of the EU dependency for vitamins and amino acids. The main message of this recommendation is that urgent action is needed and should consist primarily of supportive measures aimed at restoring the competitiveness of the EU producers of vitamins and amino acids by reducing production costs (raw materials, energy) and facilitating access to finance.
