GFLI Database aligned with GHG Protocol & SBTI-FLAG reporting requirements

On 8 September 2026, the GFLI announced a major update of its Database, now incorporating alignment with GHG Protocol & SBTI-FLAG reporting requirements. With the update, the GFLI Database integrates Orbae’s jurisdictional direct land use change (jdLUC) emission factors across 1,834 feed crops and start material inventories in the GFLI database. On 15 September, the GFLI holds a launch webinar for the establishment of its Data-In Generator Tool. The tool is a cloud-based solution that simplifies the collection and modelling of environmental data for marine ingredients. Future repurposing of the tool could extend the scope towards all feed ingredients in the Database’s scope (cultivation, feed specialty ingredients, processed plant-based and animal-based ingredients), which would greatly reduce overall cost and time for dataset creation.

On 12 October, the GFLI holds a workshop at LCA Food 2026, in Montreal (Canada). The workshop gives GFLI the chance to further promote its value for the food value chain to measure environmental and carbon footprints.
